LPN or RN with CNA Teaching Certification

The Qualified Medication Aide Certification Program ensures that individuals meet the requirements for a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA). As a QMA, a former CNA is now able to administer prescribed medications while also completing the other delegated nursing tasks as allowed by state law. The QMA training program consists of at least 100 hours of training to include 60 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of supervised practicum. This will be accomplished within an 8-week program meeting three times a week for 2.5 hours each day. The class will include the required QMA program coursework along with integrated workforce preparation activities. Pre-requisite: Be at least 18 years of age High School Diploma or equivalent Be in good standing as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) on the Indiana Aide Registry Worked a minimum of 1000 hours as a CNA within the last 24 months
