Program Description:

A program that prepares students to function as professionals in multiple healthcare settings. Medical Assistants with a clinical background will perform various clinical tasks including assisting with the administration of medications, vitals, minor procedures, performing EKG tests, obtaining lab specimens, patient intake and education as well as other related tasks. They will also earn their CPR and First Aid certificaiton in this class. Students are prepared to sit for their NHA CCMA exam after completing this class.

Includes instruction in basic anatomy and physiology; medical terminology; medical law and ethics; patient psychology and communications; medical office procedures; and clinical diagnostic, examination, testing, and treatment procedures.
