Program Description:

Students will learn to perform various phlebotomy techniques. In a classroom setting students will practice hands-on skills as well as guidance through the supportive texts. Students will work with the instructor to refine skills and meet standards of care. Phlebotomy Technician can work in a variety of settings including doctors offices, hospitals and independent lab facilities. Students will earn certification through the NHA at the conclusion of the classroom portion.

51.1009 Phlebotomy Technician/Phlebotomist A program that prepares individuals, under the supervision of physicians and other health care professionals, to draw blood samples from patients using a variety of intrusive procedures. Includes instruction in basic vascular anatomy and physiology, blood physiology, skin puncture techniques, venipuncture, venous specimen collection and handling, safety and sanitation procedures, and applicable standards and regulations.
