Examples might include a licensure, certification, specialty coursework, etc. specific to the single course.Professional Certification: A certificate by an external state, regional, national, or international agency that attests to significant breadth and depth of knowledge within a field of study.
The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) developed the Certified Production Technician (CPT) as the industry standard for production workers. CPT is the national certification supported by the National Association of Manufacturers. CPT Plus (CPT+) is the next level.
The CPT+ Skill Boss program is designed to prepare certificants with the next generation skills to work in a computer-driven, data-intensive advanced manufacturing workplace. The centerpiece of this program is a transformational training device, invented by Amatrol, that enables MSSC to offer hands-on training and assessment as an enhancement to its signature CPT training and certification system. “Skill Boss” is a computer-controlled machine that performs a wide variety of functions aligned with 55+ “Hands-on” Skills from MSSC National Standards Trains and assesses hands-on skills for all sectors of manufacturing.
CPT+ training enables workers to build core knowledge and skills required in four facets of advanced manufacturing:
Class time includes lecture, discussion, and assessments. Those successfully completing assessments in each of the four areas are awarded the CPT certification. We will use this curriculum and the Skills Boss trainer to help the students earn their CPT Plus (CPT+) certification.
