The program facility has developed and offered the SkillsTrac program (Industrial Maintenance Training) with great success since 2017. The facility has also been an approved provider by SME, the credential awarding body.
Curriculum Development Experience
Beginning in 2006, Richard was part of a team of industry professionals who were tasked with
developing an industrial maintenance training program after receiving a $2M federal training grant.
The Skillstrac Industrial Maintenance program was subsequently developed by and workbooks authored
by Richard and his colleague Ray Lufkin. The program has spread to other colleges (Wright State Univ.,
Celina; Sinclair Community College, Dayton and multiple campus locations such as the lab located in the John
Jay Center for Learning in Portland Indiana. Richard was directly responsible for the creation of twentynine
workbooks and sixty one lab experiences associated with the program.
In 2023, Richard developed the lab content to support ToolingU.com's Certified Manufacturing
Associate curriculum, a program designed to introduce new manufacturing associates to modern manufacturing
concepts.
