This course is designed as an introductory course to TIG Welding. Students will learn welding theory while getting applied training of welds in various positions on various materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Students will focus on production welding with the end goal of workplace readiness. In the field, TIG applications include welding stainless in the food industry; stainless, aluminum, titanium, and magnesium in the aircraft and aerospace industry; alloys in race car frames; and mild steel on pressure vessels. For the home hobby welder and artist, TIG is great for sculptures and other projects. Hobbyists and artists generally use mild steel, stainless, aluminum, and, to a lesser extent, copper.
The Latinas Welding Guild is proud to provide barrier-free education for adults (18+ ages) to start their welding careers. This level 2 class is a great way for students to build off of our Intro to MIG course, other MIG, intro to welding courses or industry related experience that they've gained.
Applications and interviews are on a rolling basis and students are placed into apporpiate cohorts based on their needs.
The Latinas Welding Guild works with each student on a case-by-case basis and strives to find sponsors for our student's tuition, private and public.
