Qualifications of Instructors:

All Instructors must hold a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and have a minumum of 3 years of driving experience driving a commercial vehicle. Instructors are licensed and certified with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Program Description:

The 80 hour program is designed for students who have some knowledge of commercial vehicles and those that need a refresher. Individuals who have once held a CDL prior to enrollment, but do not have a current one would do well in this course.

49.0205 Truck and Bus Driver/Commercial Vehicle Operator and Instructor A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to drive trucks and buses, delivery vehicles, for-hire vehicles and other commercial vehicles, or to instruct commerical vehicle operators. Includes instruction in operating gas, diesel, or electrically-powered vehicles; loading and unloading cargo or passengers; reporting delays or accidents on the road; verifying load against shipping papers; arranging transportation for personnel; and keeping records of receipts and fares.
