Must be 18 years of age. Have a drivers license. Pass Work Key testing. High School Diploma or equivilant.
The program is a five year apprenticeship program. The first year is the probationary. The first two years of the apprenticeship the apprentice must work 1700 hours in the year. After that they must work 850 hours every six months. Apprentices attend school two to three nights a week, after working with their respectable contractor during the day.
Applications are taken all year round, with the deadline mid February.
