Instructor credentials require include either a two-year degree from a recognized institution or national accrediting body in the major area they are assigned to teach, or at least two years practical experience in the major area they are assigned to teach in addition to professional licensure or industry-recognized certification in the field.
This program is 184 hours in length over 12 weeks. 144 hours are classroom, adult education, employability, and mock clinic training. 20 hours of clincial experience with one of our business partners: Greene County General "My Clinics" , Sullivan County Community Hospital, or Daviess County Community Hospital. WIN-Essential Soft Skills will be assigned via distance education. Students will use My Career Companion in Health Science for adult ed remediation and National Healthcare Association online curriculm for CCMA. Students will also receive NHS Skillsbuilder to learn hands-on procedures while participating in the mock clinic room. Students will have three different schedules to choose from. Tueday and Thursday 5-8 PM, Monday and Wednesday 4-7 PM or Saturdays along with distance education with all scheduled courses. NHA online curriculum has modules with a lesson and quiz. After all modules are completed, there is a practice test with 2 attemps as a final exam before scheduling the official exam. Students will have hands-on training and experience in plebotomy and EKG.
Students must be 18 years of age or older, be able to pass criminal background checks and a drug screen. Student must score a minimum of 539 in Reading on the TABE assessment and a 513 in Math.
