This course will be taught by Ivy Tech Community College accredited faculty, utilizing Ivy Tech's Healthcare state-of-the-art facilities.

Program Description:

The Clinical Medical Assisting program is designed to prepare students to work in multiple healthcare settings. Medical assistants with a clinical background perform various clinical tasks to assist doctors including, assisting with the administration of medications and with minor procedures, performing electrocardiogram (EKG) tests, obtaining laboratory specimens for testing, educating patients, and other related tasks. Job opportunities are prevalent within physicians’ offices, clinics, chiropractors' offices, hospitals and outpatient facilities.

Includes instruction in basic anatomy and physiology; medical terminology; medical law and ethics; patient psychology and communications; medical office procedures; and clinical diagnostic, examination, testing, and treatment procedures.
