Program Description:

The program consists of classroom instruction, psychomotor skill development, emergency department, and 911 and general transport field experiences. It is designed to provide adequate time to reach minimum competency in knowledge, skills, and professionalism according to the National Education Standards (http://www.ems.gov/pdf/811077a.pdf) and the National EMS Education Standards and Instructional
Guidelines (https://www.ems.gov/education.html).

51.0810 Emergency Care Attendant (EMT Ambulance) A program that prepares individuals to assist licensed EMTs, under the supervision of a physician, to prepare and transport ill or injured patients, and to operate emergency vehicles and equipment such as life support units. Includes instruction in first aid and emergency medicine field techniques, patient stabilization and care, medical field communications, equipment operation and maintenance, emergency vehicle operation, and applicable standards and regulations.

Applications are taken on a first come first serve basis. Our summer accelerated class is held June- July. The first 16 applicants that turn in a completed application and pass the background and drug screen are accepted. We did not run a summer or accellerated EMT class for 2026 and we have not determined the run dates for 2027, but we do anticipate running.
