9624 NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF POWER ENGINEERS What N.A.P.E. Does. Power Engineers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment that is essential to the generation, transmission, and distribution of power, heat, refrigeration in commercial and industrial settings, in both the private and public sector. All of these tasks must be performed according to federal, state, and local laws and codes. Education is the strongest tool in preparing Power Engineers for the challenging tasks they face while preventing simple human error when the health and safety of many people depend upon the proper operation of engineer plants. N.A.P.E. provides Power Engineers with that tool no matter the level of past experience, so they may perform to the high standards set forth by the government and their employer.
