The goal of the program is to have all instructors that are licensed teachers. The minimum requirement is an industry credential, a Pharmacy Technician certification (ExCPT),with 6 years of experience in the industry.
The Wayne Township Adult Education program was developed to give students a foundational level of the Pharmacy Technician career pathway. It includes in class instruction from The Pharmacy Technician course textbook with in class skills labs and competency check offs. It also includes online study materials (PharmaSeer and Pharmacy Math) through the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Students also complete WIN Essential Soft Skills and OSHA-10 Healthcare certificates. The program partners with IU Health and Eskenazi Hospital for clinical experiences for 4 weeks during each semester.
The program prerequisites: 1) Ability to pass a 10 panel drug screen and a criminal background check 2) Completion of all required vaccinations, including Covid-19, by week 9. 3) Tabe testing results of level M4 for reading and math 4) Participation in an placement interview to discuss success planning, program expectations, and commitments.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis at adulted.info/career. It is highly recommended to submit an application for fall classes opens in May and closes in August while seating for the spring classes opens in opens in October and closes in January. Please know that classes are seated on a first come first serve basis for candidates that meet screening standards, we encourage early applications.
