This program prepares students to gain industry certification and ultimately work with patients in hospitals, physician's offices, and other healthcare settings. Topics include human anatomy and medical terminology, electrocardiography, and professionalism in allied health. Program objectives are to become familiar with healthcare settings and the role of the EKG technician, understand the responsibilities related to performance of electrocardiograms, application of Holter monitors and assistance with stress testing, and grasp the importance of customer service, communication skills and professionalism.
