The minimum credentials for CDL instructors include a valid CDL license, a certain number of years of driving experience, and completion of a recognized instructor certification program.
The training program provides a hands-on learning experience, with typically 1-3 students per group. The training is specifically concentrated on three core areas: 1. Vehicle safety and pre-trip inspection, 2. Backing skills, and 3. Safe road operations. All aspects of the training adhere to the standards and requirements outlined in the Indiana CDL manual published by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
You must be 18 years old, 21 to crosss state lines, and do to some refreshing or extra training you must already have training that has been entered into the TPR. This is just to refresh what you have already been taught.
Application deadlines need to be finished before you can start classes.
