The Hands-On Instructor holds a State Certification as EMS-PI Emergency Medical Services Primary Instructor as well as being a member of National Emergency Services Educators and Fire and Emergency Trainer. He holds an Associate's Degree in Law as well. The Adult Education Instructor holds a State of IN Teacher's license and has over 6 years in Adult Education.
The EMT program is 12 weeks in length and 16 hours per week totaling 192 hours. This program addresses information and techniques currently considered to be the responsibilities of the EMT in conjuction with standards set forth by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. The program consists of didactic (lecture) instruction, practical skills training, clinical observation and training, adult basic education, and career readiness. Students will have opportunity for employment with our partners and will present a requitment presentation during the last week of training.
Students must be 18 years of age or older, have State of Indiana ID, be able to pass all criminal background checks, must be able to pass drug screen, and score a minimum of 550 on the Reading TABE Assessment and a minimum of 517 on the Math RABE Assessment.
Applications must be received two weeks prior to the start date of the class.
