Program Description:

This course combines expert instruction with the most comprehensive and effective way to prepare for success on your SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP exam. The interactive SHRM Learning System is a personalized roadmap to help you master the SHRM Body of Applied Skills and KnowledgeTM (SHRM BASKTM) and prepare you for the SHRM certification exams.

Learning Objectives include:

Strategic management-role of HR in organizations, strategic planning, organizational structure/internal HR partners, measuring HR effectiveness, and ethical issues
Workplace planning and employment, legislation affecting employee rights, privacy, consumer protection, EEO/Affirmative Action, discrimination, harassment, organizational staffing, job analysis, employment practices, and employee records management
Human Resource development-examines HRD assessment, adult learning and motivation, career and leadership development, and performance management
Compensation and benefits, includes pay administration, compensation systems, overview of benefit programs, and evaluating total compensation and communicating it to employees
Employee and labor relations-key legislation, employee involvement strategies, work rules, regulations and organizational policies, discipline, resolving complaints, union organizing, unfair labor practices, collective bargaining, strikes, and secondary boycotts
Occupational health, safety, and security examines key legislation

52.1001 Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General A program that generally prepares individuals to manage the development of human capital in organizations, and to provide related services to individuals and groups. Includes instruction in personnel and organization policy, human resource dynamics and flows, labor relations, sex roles, civil rights, human resources law and regulations, motivation and compensation systems, work systems, career management, employee testing and assessment, recruitment and selection, managing employee and job training programs, and the management of human resources programs and operations.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Prerequisites Description:

SHRM-CP certification are not required to hold an HR title and do not need a degree or previous HR experience to apply.

SHRM-SCP does not require an HR title or degree but does require the learner to demonstrate work history of at least 3 years performing strategic level HR/HR-related duties.
