National Phlebtolomy Instructor Certification, National Phlebtomy Certification or Certification of Completion from a licensed career school in the field of phlebotomy or medical assistant program.
This course requires 48 clock hours of attendance, testing, and practical training. This entry level program prepares entry-level students to draw blood from patients using different medical devices such as lancets, multi-draw needles, syringes, and winged devices (aka butterfly needles). This program includes the basic anatomy and physiology of the body. Specimen collection and handling, safety and universal precaution procedures, and application standards and regulations of the allied health field. The purpose of this program is to prepare entry-level students for an entry-level position as a phlebotomist.
Classroom style training with draw stations, lab processing area, and sanitizing stations. All students will be required to use and show proficiency in the utilization of the equipment in which the course trains them to use.
On-going registration. Applications and registration fees can be taken at least 1 week before class start date.
