A qualified faculty member teaching ITSP 132, 134, 135, & 175 or the non-credit equivalent meets the Information Technology Support (ITSP) program standard and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA A+ or higher/comparable certification; or documentation of a bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, and holds a valid, non-expired CompTIA A+ or higher/comparable certification with documentation in one or more of the following ways:
Students can use this course as preparation leading to the CompTIA A+ certification or keeping the certification up to date. The preparation is designed to be a continued validation of one’s expertise and a tool to expand one’s skill set. Preparation includes practice tests and assignments based on the certification exams.
About the Certification Exams:
The CompTIA A+ certification requires the student to successfully complete two exams: The Core 1 exam, 220-1101 The Core 2 exam, 220-1102 After completing this program, students will be prepared to sit for the CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 exams. After successfully completing the A+ Core 1 and 2 exams, the student will earn the CompTIA A+ Certification. If you’re a beginner in the IT industry and unsure which certifications to go for first, the A+ provides good foundational knowledge to help you jumpstart your IT career. It is ideal for those who have 9 to 12 months of experience working in the field or a lab or equivalent training. Once you pass this certification exam, you could be a great candidate for any of the following job roles: Data support technician Help desk technician End-user computing technician Service desk analyst Field service technician System support specialist Associate network engineer Computer support specialist Desktop support administrator and similar
