Adjunct instructors need to have earned a Terminal Degree (PhD or EdD), or must have a Master’s Degree in any field and meet at least one of the following qualifications:
Experience: 7+ years of professional experience related to the discipline in which the candidate will teach, or
Recognition: Regional or national recognition of field expertise as determined by awards, service on national or regional committees, work as a professional consultant, or publication of a discipline-specific textbook or book of academic scholarship, or
Scholarship: A significant record of scholarly publishing and/or presentations.
The Franks School of Education at Trine University is partnering with K-12 school districts to support non-traditional teachers in their first year of teaching through a cohort-based apprenticeship program. Our innovative ten-month hybrid program is aligned with Indiana REPA standards with relevant and immediately applicable learning outcomes tied to the month-to-month challenges faced by beginning teachers. The Secondary Program is 18 credit hours. Apprentices choose one of the pathways in accordance with licensing requirements for their particular job.
