Master's Degree in Nursing
This is an 8-hour training class that requires 6 hours of classroom time and 2 hours of hands-on practicum time. Individual will learn about the Endrocrine system and diabetes mellitus. Leran about the differewnt types of insulin, it's side effects, signs and symptoms of hypo and hyperglycemia. Know how to respond to abnormal blood sugar readings and interventions to take in diabetic emergencies. Will be certified as a sub-type to the Qualified Medication Aid with a 2 year renewal with at least 1-2 hours of training yearly to maintain certification. State testing is required to recieve certification with an opportunity to take the test 3 times in one year from the time the class is completed.
The individual must already be a Qualified Medication Aid and active in the state registry.
