Program faculty require at least a bachelor's degree to teach at an associate degree level. Most professors teaching in this degree hold a Master's degree or above.
The current healthcare job market is experiencing rapid growth, with an urgent demand for new health science professionals. In this program, students can build on prior learning, deepen their scientific knowledge, and expand future career and academic opportunities. There are three specialized areas within the degree. Paramedics and surgical technicians can apply their previous certificate coursework to an associate degree, to advance career options in the field. Paramedic and surgical technology students will finish the program in about a year by transferring in their certificate. The final track is the interdisciplinary track, perfect for students exploring healthcare careers and provides valuable insights into the healthcare field.
The program has flexible options for admission. Students with paramedic or surgical technology certificates can apply those certificates for college credit toward the degree. Other students can begin right out of high school/high school equivalency and complete the interdisciplinary track.
Students can apply year round for the program. Registration for classes closes the week before classes start for that semester.
