Course Objective: To equip students with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on skills necessary for proficiently performing Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
Understand the fundamental principles and theory behind GMAW
Identify and appropriately use GMAW equipment, tools, and materials
Demonstrate proficiency in setting up and operating GMAW equipment
Apply GMAW techniques to produce high-quality welds on various metals and joint configurations
Adhere to industry safety standards and practices to ensure a safe work environment
Interpret and follow welding specifications, blueprints, and welding procedures specifications
Pass the Welder Performance Certification Tests in the flat and horizontal positions
Course Description: This course offers an in-depth exploration of the principles, techniques, and applications of GMAW. Students will engage in practical welding exercises, and work with various metals and joint types. They will develop skills in producing quality welds, troubleshooting common issues, and interpreting welding specifications and blueprints. By the end of the course, students will be prepared for entry-level welding positions.
If they do not have their diploma, they can get it through Clinton County Adult Education before the welding class. They can also work on getting their diploma while attending the welding class.
