Qualifications of Instructors:

Network Infrastructure Program (NETI) Standard

A qualified faculty member in Network Infrastructure (NETI) meets the program standard through one of four routes:

- Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher, from a regionally accredited institution, in information systems, information technology or related field as appropriate to the program; or
- Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documented 18 semester hours or equivalent of courses beyond the introductory principle(s) level in information systems, information technology or related field as appropriate to the program; or
- Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:

- - Professional certification (national, regional, or state)
  - Two years of in-field professional employment

- - Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award
  - Documentation of research and publication in the field
  - Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military; or

- Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in information systems, information technology or related field as appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following:

- - Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field
  - Two years of in-field professional employment
  - Documented evidence of teaching excellence, including date of award
  - Documentation of research and publication in the field
  - Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military.

In this program, you'll learn the fundamentals you need to obtain a CompTIA™ Network+ certification and start a career as a network technician. The CompTIA Network+ Certification Prep course provides learners with the fundamental knowledge and hands-on skills needed to design, configure, manage, and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks. Over 8 weeks, students will build a strong foundation in networking concepts, infrastructure, operations, security, and troubleshooting while preparing for the CompTIA Network+ (N10-009) certification exam. Instruction combines lectures, guided labs, practice questions, and real-world scenarios to reinforce learning and readiness for industry application.

Includes instruction in operating systems and applications; systems design and analysis; networking theory and solutions; types of networks; network management and control; network and flow optimization; security; configuring; and troubleshooting.

- This ensures a solid foundation in basic computer hardware, operating systems, and troubleshooting skills.
9–12 months of networking experience (hands-on)
- Ideally in a junior network support or help desk role, so learners are familiar with real-world environments.
Basic understanding of:
- TCP/IP fundamentals
- Common networking devices (switches, routers, access points)
- Basic security concepts
- Operating system familiarity (Windows, Linux)
