Instructors have a minimum of 5 years of childcare experinece and hold a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.

Program Description:

Child Development Associate® (CDA) Credential. The CDA® is a nationally recognized credential awarded to individuals who complete specified training, pass an exam and complete an assessment. The CDA® prepares those seeking opportunities to work in early childhood education to meet children’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth. The Child Development Associate Credential™ is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education and is a key step in early childhood education’s professional development.

At Central Nine Adult Ed, this training will meet 3 nights a week for 14 weeks. 2 nights are virtual, one night is in person at C9.

13.1210 Early Childhood Education and Teaching A program that prepares individuals to teach students ranging in age from infancy through eight years (grade three), depending on the school system or state regulations. Includes preparation to teach all relevant subject matter.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Prerequisites Description:

Resident of Indiana
Work in a childcare center, childcare home, or childcare ministry that is licensed, registered, or certified as a LLEP CCDF provider by OECOSL.
Work directly with children 25 or more hours per week.
Have a CURRENT Criminal History/ Background check on file with the FSSA, Office of Early Childhood and Out of School Learning (OECOSL) with my employer.
Be 18 years of age or older.
Have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
