All program faculty must meet the following minimum credentials:
Hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
Have a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience, with at least one (1) year in a home health or community-based healthcare setting.
Demonstrate experience in teaching or training within a healthcare setting is preferred.
The Indiana State-Approved Home Health Aide (HHA) Training Program offers a comprehensive blend of classroom instruction and supervised practical training tailored to meet the unique needs of home healthcare settings. This program is specifically designed to equip students with essential skills, such as personal care, infection control, and emergency response, while emphasizing professionalism, client dignity, and ethical caregiving practices. By adhering to state guidelines and incorporating real-world scenarios, this program ensures graduates are job-ready and prepared to excel in the growing home healthcare industry. This curriculum aligns with Indiana state requirements and includes a comprehensive combination of classroom instruction and supervised practical training. The program consists of at least 80 total hours, including at least 20 hours of supervised practical training. Students must complete at least 16 hours of classroom training before beginning the supervised practical training.
Program Goals:
Prepare participants to provide personal care and assist with activities of daily living.
Ensure understanding of home health safety protocols, infection control, and emergency procedures.
Develop effective communication and documentation skills.
Promote professionalism and ethical standards in caregiving.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for enrollment:
Successfully pass a drug screening test.
Successfully pass a criminal background check.
Demonstrate proficiency in basic English and math through a standardized assessment test.
