This training is offered through a partnership between NCCER and COABE. A certified teacher will complete the training offered through the partnership and participants will be allowed to enter the apprenticeship program with Central Midwest Carpenters upon completion of the training.
This course curriculum is designed to be a pre-apprenticeship and provide hands-on training in safety, construction math, tools, drawings, rigging and communication. In 8-9 weeks, graduates earn NCCER Core and OSHA 30 certifications. In addition to the 63 hours of technical construction training, the course will include atleast 30 hours of hands-on training and atleast 12 hours of employability instruction.
Students must be 18 years of age by the start of the training. It is recommended that participants have an 8th grade math level.
Interested students should apply by August 31, 2025 for the Fall semester and January 8, 2026 for the Spring semester.
