EPA Section 608 Universal Certification and a minimum of 2 years of industry experience in HVAC or refrigeration systems.
This program provides training aligned with the HVAC and refrigeration industry, preparing participants for entry-level employment as HVAC technicians and maintenance personnel. The program focuses on core concepts including refrigeration cycles, system components, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.
Participants receive preparation for the EPA Section 608 Universal Certification, a federally required credential for handling refrigerants. Training includes a combination of instructor-led instruction, hands-on lab activities, and self-paced learning modules.
The program includes access to on-site certification testing through an approved process, allowing participants to complete the EPA Section 608 certification exam and obtain credentials upon successful completion. The program is designed to support rapid workforce entry in high-demand skilled trades.
Participants should possess basic math and reading comprehension skills. No prior HVAC experience is required.
Applications are excepted on a rolling basis with new coharts starting every quarter (January,April,July, and October). Interested applicnts are encouraged to apply at least 30 days before the desired start date to allow for processing and eligibility verification. Later pplications may be considered based on availability.Â
