Qualifications of Instructors:

A qualified adjunct faculty member, including Dual Credit, Workforce Alignment, and a full-time faculty teaching outside their discipline, meets the technical course standard through one of four routes:

Meets the full-time faculty discipline standard; or
Possesses a Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training recognized journeyman’s card in the discipline directly related to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and in journeyman status for two years or more with experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and

Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR); or
Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and
5 years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR); or

3. Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License, Technology Education License (Technology and Engineering Education, Engineering and Technology Education), or CTE: Trade & Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and

Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR) - Required CompTIA A+ Certification (Tech+ optional).

Program Description:

In this two-class bundle, you'll learn everything to help you jump start a career in IT - setting you up for success in taking two key certification exams through CompTIA, one of the world's leading industry partners:

Class 1: CompTIA Tech+

This class is 4 weeks.
Students meet virtually with an instructor on set dates, at set times.
Upon the completion of this class, you'll be offered a seat to take the CompTIA Tech+ exam, FC0-U71.

Class 2: CompTIA A+

This class is an 8-week course.
Students meet virtually with an instructor on set dates, at set times.
This class can be converted (or cross-walked) to credit at Ivy Tech Community College for these classes:

ITSP 132 IT Support Essentials I and

ITSP 134 IT Support Essential II and

ITSP 136 Workforce Preparation: CompTIA A+ Certification

Upon completion of this class, you'll be offered a seat to take the CompTIA A+ exams, 220-1101 & 220-1102.
