I (Andre Jones) have been a licensed Beauty Culture Instructor (in Barbering and Cosmetology) (01/12/2023) for two and a half years.I've been a licensed cosmetologist for over 10 years (03/27/2015), a licensed barber for over two years (05/09/2023). I have 30 plus years experience in the industry and have owned/operated my own shop for 10 plus years.

Program Description:

This program gives individuals the opportunity to crossover from their cosmetology to barbering. It gives them more knowledge about the industry. This program specifically teaches the more in depth knowledge about barbering that's not covered in cosmetology.

12.0402 Barbering/Barber A program that prepares individuals to shave and trim facial/neck hair and beards, cut and dress hair, fit hairpieces, give facial and scalp massages, apply cosmetic treatments, and to prepare for licensure as professional barbers at various levels. Includes instruction in facial shaving; beard and mustache shaping and trimming; shampooing; hair cutting; hair styles and styling art; facial treatments and massage; chemical applications; hair and scalp anatomy and physiology; hairpiece and toupee fitting; equipment operation; health and safety; customer service; and shop business practices.
