The Electrocardiography (EKG) Technician program provides students with a strong foundation in cardiovascular anatomy, patient care procedures, and EKG administration. Students will learn how the cardiovascular system interacts with other body systems, develop an understanding of legal and ethical healthcare considerations, and gain practical skills in patient assessment and communication. The program covers proper EKG lead placement, documentation of procedures, basic interpretation of EKG tracings, and various types of cardiovascular testing, such as Holter monitoring and stress testing. Emphasis is placed on maintaining HIPAA compliance and recognizing situations requiring immediate medical intervention.
