PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Gifted Hands Academy Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) Program is an intensive 8-week workforce training program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in physician offices, outpatient clinics, hospitals, urgent care centers, specialty practices, and other healthcare settings.
Students will develop the administrative, communication, scheduling, billing, electronic health record (EHR), customer service, and healthcare office management skills required to function successfully as a Medical Administrative Assistant. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) certification examination. The curriculum is aligned with NHA CMAA exam domains, including Foundational Knowledge, Communication and Professionalism, Medical Law and Ethics, Scheduling, Patient Encounters, Billing and Revenue Cycle, and Administrative Procedures.
Applicants must:
o Possess a high school diploma or GED
o Pass background screening requirements
o Meet physical and clinical participation requirements
o Submit immunization documentation (if required)
o Must be at least 18 years of age.
Have proof of a high school diploma, or equivalent
Application deadlines are 4 weeks prior to each class start date on a rolling calendar year.
