The Therapeutic Massage Program at Alora College of Health Sciences is a unique, medically grounded 625-clock-hour curriculum designed to train the next generation of advanced healthcare support professionals. Distinct from standard technical programs, our curriculum bridges the gap between reactive wellness and proactive, clinical-grade care. Led by an expert, multidisciplinary faculty team—including an advanced practice board-certified Nurse Practitioner (APRN) and licensed, certified massage therapists—the program delivers an intensive combination of advanced foundational sciences (anatomy, physiology, pathology, and clinical assessment) and rigorous hands-on modalities.
Delivered over an efficient, 9-month accelerated track meeting 2 days a week, the program features dedicated, supervised clinical student practicums emphasizing professional ethics, therapeutic communication, and non-pharmacological pain management. Graduates are explicitly prepared to pass the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx), secure mandatory Indiana state licensure, and immediately enter high-demand roles within integrated medical offices, rehabilitation centers, and specialized wellness clinics.
Admission to the Therapeutic Massage program requires proof of a high school diploma or GED, a minimum age of 18 by graduation, and the successful completion of an intake interview with the program directors. Due to the clinical and physical nature of the curriculum, students must possess the physical stamina to perform hands-on bodywork and must adhere to all professional, medical, and ethical hygiene standards.
To ensure optimal cohort sizing and sufficient time for administrative processing—including mandatory intake interviews and criminal background disclosures—the Priority Application Deadline is 60 days prior to the first day of class.
Applications received after this 60-day benchmark will be evaluated on a rolling, space-available basis. Registration strictly closes 14 days prior to the cohort start date to facilitate student onboarding and clinical supply procurement.
