This program prepares adult learners to enter the dental field as entry-level dental assistants, culminating in eligibility for the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) National Entry Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) certification exams and completion of requirements toward a Dental Radiographers License. Using Modern Dental Assisting, 13th Edition, students complete 96 hours of in-person instruction over 12 weeks, delivered through print materials, video presentations, interactive online instructional platforms, live instruction, and hands-on lab demonstration. Weekly lab days provide hands-on application of clinical, radiographic, and laboratory skills. Students arrange a 12-hour clinical job shadowing experience based on instructor recommendations and complete approximately 15 hours of coursework outside of class each week.
