2 year degree with a minimum of 2 years in the field of study being offered.
The Hot Shot CDL-A program is is commercial driver training focused on operating smaller truck-and-trailer combinations commonly used in hot shot freight hauling—often a heavy-duty pickup pulling a gooseneck or flatbed trailer. Students will receive classroom instruction via distance education, behind-the-wheel, and range instruction one-on-one with an experienced instructor. Students will then go with the instructor and take the third party driving exam with the truck they trained on. Testing fee is included in tuition.
Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age, have had a valid license for over one year, must pass BMV background checks to hold a driver's permit. Student must pass drug screen and DOT physical. Students must score a minimum of 513 in Math and 518 in Reading on the TABE Assessment or a miimum of level 3 on the WorkKeys Workplace Document assessment.
One week prior to class starting.
