Certified Welding Inspectorthrough AWS
This program is designed for those who have either no welding experience or limited welding experience. All students are required to register for the OSHA 10 program. 5% of that is completed in the classroom and 95% is completed by students independently. This is new to the program as we find this an important part of welding. There will be a classroom segment where safety, working with fractions, measurements, and learning to read welding symbols are stressed due to a demand by employers. Students will learn to burn/cut metal surfaces initially. In addition, in this introductory/beginning class, gas metal arc welding will be the primary focus, but other processes will be introduced. Students will have the opportunity to earn AWS certifications as part of their training. SCILL provides support for job placement.
