Excellent interpersonal skills with adult students; expertise in using Microsoft Office; ability to report to work as assigned; current Indiana teacher or occupational specialist licensure; knowledge of skills required to pass the MOS certification tests; knowledge of best practices in career and technical education.
In this class, you will learn to perform the duties of an administrative assistant and/or office secretary. Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification provides you with the foundation of knowledge needed to succeed in environments that require the use of computers and electronic communication. You will become proficient in three of the most commonly-used programs among administrative assistants and secretaries: Microsoft Word 2016, Microsoft Excel 2016, and Microsoft PowerPoint 2016. A Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification helps validateproficiency in using Microsoft Office and meets the demand for the most up-to-date skills on the latest Microsoft technologies.
High school diploma or equivalent, or regular attendance in ABE classes with math and reading scores on the Test of Adult Basic Education at 9.0 or higher. Fluent keyboarding and computer skills.
Two weeks before start of class.
