A 200 hour Class A CDL program meets or exceeds the basic hiring criteria for most truckload freight haulers seeking drivers. It provides students the opportunity to gain knowledge and develop skills that will secure means of gaining employment as a commercial truck driver. The course includes classroom instruction, as well as in truck skill and street/ highway training. It encompasses safe and efficient braking, shifting, turning, as well as vehicle inspection and maintenance, coupling and uncoupling, safe driving practices, communication, visual search, speed and space management, log book keeping, cargo handling and documentation.
