Qualifications of Instructors:

A qualified adjunct faculty member, including Dual Credit, Workforce Alignment, and a full-time faculty teaching outside their discipline, meets the technical course standard through one of four routes:

- Meets the full-time faculty discipline standard; or

- Possesses a Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training recognized journeyman’s card in the discipline directly related to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and in journeyman status for two years or more with experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR); or

- Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and
- 5 years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR); or

- Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License, Technology Education License (Technology and Engineering Education, Engineering and Technology Education), or CTE: Trade & Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and
- Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR).

Program Description:

The Mechatronics Certificate (CT) is for the student who wants to work with electronics and automated systems to improve industrial machinery. This is a stackable credential that can prepare you for the pursuit of the Advanced Automation and Robotics Technology (AART) Associate degree.

In this world of automatic and instant service, this program provides students with the skills and knowledge to make an impact in the world of manufacturing and robotics. In the Advanced Automation and Robotics Technology (AART) program, you'll learn how to

Design, program and troubleshoot computers, PLC's, robots and other industrial software
Utilize electrical/mechanical troubleshooting and communication skills
Diagnose, repair, test and return to service failed components
Communicate with teammates
Identify and solve problems
Demonstrate understanding of and commitment to address professional and ethical responsibilities

15.0613 Manufacturing Engineering Technology/Technician A program that prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills to the identification and resolution of production problems in the manufacture of products. Includes instruction in machine operations, production line operations, engineering analysis, systems analysis, instrumentation, physical controls, automation, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), manufacturing planning, quality control, and informational infrastructure.
