Qualifications of Instructors:

A qualified faculty member in hospitality administration program meets all three of the following criteria:

- Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, and
- Completed academic preparation and/or work experience appropriate to the program being credentialed to teach for, and
- Holds professional certification in the field.
  - Serve Safe Certification is required.
  - Serve Safe Instructor Proctor is required.
- Additionally, American Culinary Federation Educational Foundation accredited programs should meet the qualifications of the ACF certification standards. It is not required that they hold current certification at these levels, but that they would be qualified to do so regarding work experience and education, with Certified Culinary Educator (CCE) levels being encouraged for all full-time faculty.

Program Description:

The Dietary Management Certificate (CT) teaches critical skills in diet therapy, nutrition, and dietary management and supervision. Students also complete an internship during this program.

A recommended path to one of the associate degrees in Hospitality Administration is to complete one or more of the certificates offered by Ivy Tech while working toward the degree. The certificates are designed to provide gateways toward entry-level hospitality administration and culinary careers, so you can begin working quickly. You may then choose to pursue a credential that requires more credits and time in order to learn more and move up in your professional career. You can apply the credits from your certificate to your higher-level credential at Ivy Tech to make the most of your time and tuition.

51.3104 Dietitian Assistant A program that prepares individuals to assist registered dietitians in planning, preparing and serving meals to individuals with specific dietary needs. Includes instruction in equipment use, food preparation, diet regulations, food handling, safety and sanitary standards and administrative techniques and procedures.
