This course meets the objectives for Firefighter I-II of NFPA 1001, Standard on Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications. This course includes training and certification in hazardous materials operations, technical rescue awareness, auto extrication techniques and firefighter safety and survival. Gear is provided. Additional certifications: IDHS Autism Awareness, IDHS SIDS, IDHS Tech Rescue Awareness, IDHS Hazardous Materials Awareness & Operations, FHWA Traffic Incident Management.There are no credentialing or testing fees associated with this program.
No Prerequisites
Two weeks prior to class start. Classes start mid-January and mid-August.
IET funding is avaialable for this training class.
