And, possesses anyspecialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated inthe Curriculum of Record (COR) And, two years of directly related workexperience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in theCurriculum of Record (COR).Course Credential Standard: Credentials other than the program/discipline standard that may appropriately qualify one to teach a specific course. Examples might include a licensure, certification, specialty coursework, etc. specific to the single course.Professional Certification: A certificate by an external state, regional, national, or international agency that attests to significant breadth and depth of knowledge within a field of study.

Program Description:

Description: Workplace welding allows you to earn an American Welding Society (AWS) qualification, to give you the skills needed to become an Entry Level Production Welder. During this training course students will investigate various Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) processes including: short circuit transfer, spray transfer, metal-core and flux-core (FCAW) welding. Welding techniques in all positions on various thicknesses of metal.

48.0508 Welding Technology/Welder A program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to join or cut metal surfaces. Includes instruction in arc welding, resistance welding, brazing and soldering, cutting, high-energy beam welding and cutting, solid state welding, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, oxidation-reduction reactions, welding metallurgy, welding processes and heat treating, structural design, safety, and applicable codes and standards.
