Because it takes a variety of skills to teach our diverse students, program faculty must meet a variety of standards to join the instructional team. They must be technically proficient (either through 1+ years experience as a software developer in the language in which they are teaching, and/or through earning Eleven Fifty's digital badges and completing our trainee program) and they must be pedagogically proficient in the Eleven Fifty Academy Curriculum (either by shadow teaching and/or completing our trainee program). We use a team teaching approach to make sure that each learner has the opportunity to learn in the way they learn best. Note high standards are maintained by both qualitative and quantitative reviews. Weekly student surveys allow students to express direct feedback, but also comparisons across cohorts surface any concerns about instructional quality of which students may not be aware.
Our program prepares individuals to apply the knowledge and skills of general computer programming to the solution of specific operational problems and customization requirements presented by individual software users and organizational users.Through progression in the track, our goal is to assist students in growing their technical knowledge and skills as well as professionalism and team work.

During the admissions process, we work with students to find scholarships and/or loans which may be appropriate for them. These funding sources vary during the course of the year, so we work to find the most up to date and appropriate resources. In some cases, employers pay for their employees to "skill up" and learn a new programming language.
