Instructors will have a minimum of 4 yearsexperience in teaching and/or industry and will be certified in this area.
Considers various gas metal welding (GMAW) processes including microwire, flux-core, inner shield, and submerged arc with emphasis on metal inert gas welding. Techniques of welding in all positions on various thicknesses metal. Provides advanced skills and fundamental knowledge in Gas Metal Arc Welding. This course is designed for beginning to intermediate welders, and fabricators and those seeking welder certification. Emphasizes safe practices in Gas Metal Arc Welding. In addition, this course will prepare students to take nationally recognized AWS 3G certification exam(s). This course will be performance and skill based on early certification possible. If the student cannot meet 3G MIG requirements, we will prepare them for either a 1 or 2G MIG certification based on skill level. Certifications will be done by a Certified Welding Inspector and passing students will receive a Qualified Welding Certification Card.
