Qualifications of Instructors:

A qualified adjunct faculty member, including Dual Credit, Workforce Alignment, and a full-time faculty teaching outside their discipline, meets the technical course standard through one of four routes:

Meets the full-time faculty discipline standard; or
Possesses a Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training recognized journeyman’s card in the discipline directly related to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and in journeyman status for two years or more with experience that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and
Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR); or
Possesses any specialized certifications or credentials required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and
5 years directly related work experience in the field that is specifically linked to the competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR); or
Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License, Technology Education License (Technology and Engineering Education, Engineering and Technology Education), or CTE: Trade & Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Curriculum of Record (COR), and
Possesses any specialized certifications required for the class being taught as indicated in the Curriculum of Record (COR).

Program Description:

The MSSC Certified Production Technician certification is the nationally recognized certification supported by the National Association of Manufacturers. The training will enable workers to build the core knowledge and skills required in modern advanced manufacturing. This course will validate with the certification the worker's technical, academic and employability skills needed in the modern manufacturing environment. The program is the first four modules in the MSCC CPT curriculum. The four modules comprising the course are:

Safety;
Maintenance Awareness;
Quality and Continuous Improvement; and,
Manufacturing Process and Production.

For individuals who pass these four assessments, they will earn and be able to:
• Download or Purchase the Full Certification document that bears the CPT 4.0 logo, NAM logo (NAM-endorsed Skills Certification) with ISO 17024 reference
• Purchase Large CPT 4.0 Arm Patch
• Download Key Work Activities document to share with employers

15.0613 Manufacturing Engineering Technology/Technician A program that prepares individuals to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills to the identification and resolution of production problems in the manufacture of products. Includes instruction in machine operations, production line operations, engineering analysis, systems analysis, instrumentation, physical controls, automation, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), manufacturing planning, quality control, and informational infrastructure.

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Prerequisites Description:

Must-have: Solid grasp of basic math, measurement, and workplace English.
Nice-to-have: Exposure to shop tools, safety culture, or maintenance tasks.
Not required: Prior certifications, college degree, or extensive production experience.
