Linda Ransom has been an educator for over 30 years. She has taught in public schools, at Vincennes University as an adjunct math instructor, and adult education classes. In addition to having teaching licenses from Indiana, Michigan, and South Carolina, she has both elementary and secondary licenses.
This course is designed to prepare participants with the paraprofessional skills for the successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment and employment opportunities within the South Bend Community School Corporation. Emphasis will be placed on learning the math, language, and literacy skills to pass the assessment, in addition to understanding the role of a paraprofessional in the classroom.
The academic prerequisite requirement for admission into the program is a TABE reading, writing and math level of 6th grade or higher for HSE or TABE CLAS-E level 3 or higher for ELL. In addition, applicants must have accumulated 12 hours of Adult Education time and pass a SBCSC Human Resource background check.
Must be an enrolled AD ED student. Because of open enrollment, applications can be accepted at any time before class start.
IET funds can be used to pay for this training. Students are eligible for IET financial assistance only once per school year.
