Program faculty must have a minimum of a LPN.
Electrocardiograph (EKG) Technician program prepares individuals, to take direction and supervision from physicians and nurses. This program trains the individual to administer tests to determine the cardiovascular health of patients by performing diagnostic tests on patients, monitoring patient blood pressure and collecting medical data for use by doctors. This training includes instruction in basic anatomy and physiology, the cardiovascular system, medical terminology, cardiovascular medications and effects, patient care, EKG and ECG administration, equipment operation and maintenance, interpretation of cardiac rhythm, patient record management, and professional standards and ethics. In addition, the program provides hands-on training onsite at the training location.
