AWS - CWI, CWE or practical experience of not less than two years in the major area they are assigned to teach and professional licensure or industry-recognized certification in the field.
This course provides advanced skills and knowledge in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. This course is designed for intermediate welders, auto service and body technicians, and individuals in the HVAC industry. Students will be educated in selection of various nozzle sizes and proper electrode selection in accordance with WPS's. Labs will focus on Lap joints, T Joints and Square groove joints on 10 gauge steel and aluminum and the tungsten electrodes required for specific materials.Students will be instructed in welding safety, potential welding hazards and the necessity of proper PPE.
WELD 100 - Welding Fundamentals; WELD 208 - Gas Tungsten ARC (TIG) Welding Or the equivalent work experience.
Classes are continually forming, as they only last 8 weeks each.
