Daren Hobbs, Instructor, has 8 years welding experience and has completed our TIG welding course and is certified in the process.Samuel Comstock, Instructor, has 7years welding experience and has completed our TIG welding course and is certified in the process.

Program Description:

This course will teach you the basics of Shielded Metal Arc Welding, proper safety, blueprint reading, and equipment operations. This course is taught in both the classroom environment as well as hands on in our welding shop. While the majority of your time will be hands on, in the shop, the classroom instruction is equally important in general knowledge of the welding field, especially for individuals pursuing welding as a career.

Includes instruction in arc welding, resistance welding, brazing and soldering, cutting, high-energy beam welding and cutting, solid state welding, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, oxidation-reduction reactions, welding metallurgy, welding processes and heat treating, structural design, safety, and applicable codes and standards.
