Program faculty hold a minimum of an AAS in Medical Assisting, CMA(AAMA) or RMA certification, and a minimum of 3 years of in-field experience.
The Franciscan Health Education Medical Assisting program is a 16-month, 1,290 clock-hour program that includes classroom, clinical laboratory, and practicum hours. Classes meet 3 days per week and culminate in a 360 hour externship experience for all students. This program is designed to prepare graduates to seek an entry-level medical assisting position in a physician’s office or other ambulatory care facility.
June 30th of each year
Students who are employees are offered tuition deferment. If they agree to continue to work for Franciscan Health after graduation for 2 years. If they do this 100% of their tuition is deferred. If they leave before their 2 years are completed the amount is prorated.
